“To facilitate the research, design, and development of satellite technology and to nurture the growing space community.”
The Small Satellite Design Club at the University of Florida has decided this to be our overarching goal. To this end, we have both multiple design teams as well as general body meetings in order to educate our club members and give them practical experience. At our general body meetings, we bring veterans of the space industry to speak to our club about how satellites are designed and flown. We also have professors at UF come to speak to our members about research they are performing. We also have three design teams performing research, creating new designs in satellite technology, educating club members about satellite design, and more. We do all this in order to accomplish our purpose – to inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists to work in the space industry, and to develop new technologies in the world of small satellites.
